Employee Spotlight: Kristin McCabe
With an open mind and yearning to become a both a leader and innovator, Kristin didn’t follow a rigid path to find her career in solar. She attended Rutgers University and earned her Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Public Health. While in college, she worked evenings and weekends for a residential solar company and loved it. It was new, exciting, and there was always something to learn. After graduating, she accepted a full-time role there, working as a Senior Designer. In this role, she learned how to use Auto-CAD, which would prove to be a pillar in a technical career.
In her role at Genie Solar Energy as the Director of Project Development, her knowledge in solar proposals, designs, engineering, permitting, and project management has made her a welcome addition to the team. She is leading the team’s initiative on creating accurate concept designs and cost estimates, as well as managing active projects through interconnection/incentives and construction. Her dedication to both project and team success is a critical factor in a growing company.
Some of Kristin’s hobbies include cooking, baking bread, and reading novels. She also enjoys hiking, walking the boardwalk, and traveling with her husband. Other leisure activities include bike rides, game nights with friends, and summertime beach lounging.
